How to manage your custom foods

In addition to copying a food, including any found in our global database, you can also create custom foods from scratch.

Create a Food

You can create a food by tapping the + button in the bottom navigation or the + button in the top right corner of the food search screen, then:

  1. Tap "Create Food"

  2. Optional: If the food package has a barcode, then you can scan it and add it. Then the next time you scan the barcode when logging a food, this custom food will pop-up.

  3. Enter the Food name and nutrition information.

    1. Optional: If the food package has a nutrition label, then you can tap "Scan Nutrition Label" to scan the label and automatically capture all of the nutrition information. No more manual data entry! The nutrition label is available to use on a US and Canadian labels. Support for UK labels is coming soon.

Edit a Custom Food

  1. From food search, tap the Food tab

  2. Tap on the food you wish to edit

    1. If you're in a food logging flow, tap the ... button in the top right corner and select Edit

    2. If you entered from Profile > Saved Foods, Meals & Recipes, then you can make your edits on the Edit Food screen.

  3. Make your edits

  4. Tap the done checkmark in the top right corner to save your food edits.

Copy a Food

  1. On the the Add Food or Edit Food screen, tap the ... button in the top right corner

  2. Tap "Create Copy"

  3. Make any edits on the Create Food screen and tap the checkmark in the top right corner when done

  4. If you're in an add to meal workflow, then on the Add Food screen, set your serving size and tap the checkmark in the top right corner to log your new food to your meal.
