# Foods: Create, Edit, & Copy

How to manage your custom foods

In addition to [copying a food](https://help.macrosfirst.com/en/articles/19-create-a-copy-of-a-food.md), including any found in our global database, you can also create custom foods from scratch.

## Create a Food

You can create a food by tapping the `+` button in the bottom navigation or the `+` button in the top right corner of the food search screen, then:

1. Tap "Create Food"

2. Optional: If the food package has a barcode, then you can scan it and add it. Then the next time you scan the barcode when logging a food, this custom food will pop up.

3. Enter the Food name and nutrition information.

    1. Optional: If the food package has a nutrition label, tap "Scan Nutrition Label" to scan it and automatically capture all nutrition information. No more manual data entry! The nutrition label is available to use on US and Canadian labels. Support for UK labels is coming soon.

## **Edit a Custom Food**

1. From the food search, tap the _Food_ tab

2. Tap on the food you wish to edit

    1. If you're in a food logging flow, tap the `...` button in the top right corner and select _Edit_

    2. If you entered from _More > Saved Foods, Meals & Recipes_, then you can make your edits on the _Edit Food_ screen.

3. Make your edits

4. Tap the checkmark in the top-right corner to save your food edits.

## Copy a Food

1. On the Add Food or Edit Food screen, tap the `...` button in the top right corner

2. Tap "Create Copy"

3. Make any edits on the Create Food screen, then tap the checkmark in the top-right corner when done.

4. If you're in an _add-to-meal_ workflow, on the Add Food screen set your serving size, then tap the checkmark in the top-right corner to log your new food to your meal.
