Auto-Calculate Food Portions

No more macro math! Automatically calculate a food's serving size according to a nutrient goal for that food

One of the coolest features in MacrosFirst is the patent pending automatic serving size solver where you can automatically set a food's serving size according to your nutrition goal for that food. No more macro math! No more throwing darts guessing what serving size of food is necessary to hit a particular nutrition goal for that food.

To automatically portion a food on your daily log:

  1. Add a food to a meal

  2. Tap on any of the food's nutrients: P, C, F, or calories

  3. Enter your desired value for that nutrient. For example, "20 g of C" and MacrosFirst will automatically scale the serving size necessary to achieve that nutrient value. ✨🤯✨

You can also auto-calculate the serving size of a food for any nutrient, not just P, C, F, and calories, by tapping on the Food to enter its Details page. On the Details page entering a new value in any of the nutrients (sodium, fiber, etc.) will auto-calculate the serving size to hit that new value.

Note: If you're trying to edit a food's nutrition information rather than auto-calculate its serving size, then please see this article:
