How do Coaches use MacrosFirst with their Clients?

Learn how coaches make the most of MacrosFirst

At MacrosFirst we have been fortunate to partner with thousands of nutrition coaches earning the privilege to be their preferred nutrition tracking app which these coaches use and recommend to their clients.

In addition to being the most powerful and easiest to use nutrition tracker clients and end users, we have built a suite of features and offers to enhance the coach experience.

Follow Friends

You can follow friends in MacrosFirst and view their daily log, nutrition averages, and more. This is a great way for coaches to keep up with their clients both at a granular level viewing individual food choices in the daily log and at a macro level viewing comprehensive trend reporting of nutrition and body weight changes over time. This is a big advantage over other apps where following a client only permits the coach to view their daily log, one day at a time. Check it out in Profile > Friends and invite your first friend today.

In MacrosFirst each Follow request is uni-directional. This means that you can send friend requests to your clients and they won’t be able to view your own food log unless you explicitly grant them permission. This way you, as a coach, can maintain your own privacy while viewing and managing your clients.

Google Sheets Importer

Google Sheets are a fantastic tool to use for client check-ins. Sheets are free, everyone knows how to use them, and they’re endlessly customizable to collect the information that matters to you in the format that you want to see it. However, for the client spreadsheet check-in sheets are a pain in the butt to fill out. Transcribing one’s nutrition data from MacrosFirst, or any other tracker, into the check-in sheet, cell by cell, is no fun at all.

That’s why we built the Google Sheets Importer where clients can automatically import their nutrition data from MacrosFirst into their coach’s check-in sheet. Eliminating manual data entry from the client means happier clients, better compliance, and less stress for the coach.

We developed the importer working with check-in sheets from dozens of coaches to ensure that it’s super flexible and works with nearly any format of sheet out of the box with no customization necessary. To learn more about the importer, visit the Google Sheets Importer help center article.

Coaching Platform Integrations

For coaches who use coaching platforms to manage their client communications, check-ins, and more, we have integrated with the best coaching platforms in the game to sync client nutrition data from MacrosFirst into the platform in realtime so the coach can view all of their clients’ data in one place. MacrosFirst is fully integrated with:

Our integrations with Coach Catalyst and Apotheo go one step further and enable the coach to push updated daily macro goals directly into the client’s MacrosFirst account. This feature is not available from another other nutrition tracker and eliminates unnecessary manual data by the client. Here’s what that looks like in Apotheo.

Share Recipes, Meals, and Foods

In MacrosFirst you can share any recipe, meal, or food by tapping the share icon and pasting the unique share link into your email, FB group, text message, or wherever. When the recipient clicks the share link they’ll be able to log the item to their day or add it to the saved items list.

Instead of sharing each item one at a time, some coaches have instead used their share links to create complete meal plans and recommended food lists which they share with clients in spreadsheets or PDFs. Equipped with their coach’s shared items, the client can easily load all of them into their own MacrosFirst account which just a few taps.

Your Recipes searchable in MacrosFirst

For coaches, food bloggers, and cookbook authors who create recipes we can load your recipes into global database so they’re easy to find and log for all users in MacrosFirst. Here are some of the amazing creators who have loaded their recipes into MacrosFirst.

If you’re interested in loading your recipes in MacrosFirst, please contact jacob@macrosfirst.com.

Unlike other apps, you need to be approved in order to add your recipes to MacrosFirst. After you’ve been approved, adding to and maintaining your recipes is self-serve. This is to maintain high data integrity and prevent our search results from becoming cluttered with bogus food entries.
