If your Plus membership or free trial ends, nothing is deleted. Your goal and all of your food logs and weigh-ins stay exactly as they are. What changes is your plan switches to manual and you lose visibility into your real expenditure data. This article explains what that means day to day, and what happens if you come back to Plus.
If you have Autopilot or Copilot nutrition plan it will convert to manual, retaining your current targets Your goal, your Goal History, and your expenditure settings under More > Energy Expenditure all stay available.
Weekly check-ins are part of Autopilot and Copilot, so they stop. That works fine at first. But as your weight changes, so does the number of calories you burn, so targets that fit today slowly drift out of step with your body. See Energy Balance: Why Progress Can Slow and How MacrosFirst Adapts.
To keep you on track, the free plan offers to recalculate your targets every 10 lb (5 kg) of weight change toward your goal. The Next plan update card on the Plan tab shows how far you have to go. Free updates use population averages rather than your own measured expenditure, so they're a solid estimate, not a personal one. See Plan Updates on the Free Plan.
You can still edit your Manual plan by going to the Plan screen and tapping Edit Plan. See Manual Plan Settings.
The Expenditure and Energy Balance charts on your Dashboard are Plus features, so they're hidden on the free plan, with a button to unlock them. But your expenditure is calculated from your food logs and weigh-ins, so everything you log on the free plan still counts. If you keep logging consistently, MacrosFirst will show you an accurate picture of what you burn the moment you return. This allows you to hop back on Autopilot or Copilot whenever you’re ready with no delay.
If you rejoin Plus, everything comes back. MacrosFirst calculates your expenditure from your food logs and weigh-ins since your expenditure start date, including anything you logged on the free plan, and your Dashboard charts unlock.
If your plan is still Autopilot or Copilot, your weekly check-ins pick up again. If you were away for more than a week, your first one is usually due right away, and because a lot can change in that time, it may move your targets more than a typical week. If your plan became a Manual plan, tap New Plan on the Plan tab and choose Autopilot or Copilot.
If you only logged on and off while you were away, mark any partial days Incomplete, or set a new expenditure Start date for a fresh start, so those days don't pull your expenditure off. See Expenditure Settings.
